STAY AND TRAIN
Your dog comes to my home and spends two weeks learning how to be a happy member of your family!! Basic obedience commands addressed along with the more subtle skills of pack socialization with humans and other animals.
Group Classes

The Perfect Puppy
Congratulations on your new puppy!! There is nothing quite as exciting as a brand new furry friend!
Having made your selection and found yourself a great breeder with a good reputation, your next step is going to be getting ready to receive your new family member ! New rules, new patterns and of course, a LOT of questions. It can all be a bit overwhelming. Don’t worry! We can help.
So much of your dog’s future personality will depend on his early conditioning. He will need consistency, clear guidance and a helping hand when he is learning new “stuff” The period between 8 and 12 weeks is a fundamental development time for these little ones and it is during this time that they will learn basic skills that will always be part of their lives. In order to help with those first, early weeks, we have created a program that will allow a gentle transition into their forever home and take away much of the stress of house training, sleepless nights, leash training and anxiety.
Here in the beautiful hills of West Virginia, we provide an In-Home Arena where your tiny puppy can become a confident, secure and attentive youngster. We take care of the foundations…sleeping through the night, crate training, coming when called, social interaction with other dogs, riding in the car, going on his first “walk” and lots of exposure to different stimuli. Your puppy is not kept in a kennel but lives in a social group. He will learn how to adjust to our small community in a safe and growthful way, which will prepare him for anything from apartment living to a home with small children…
Our program starts at a four week stay and can focus on specific future “job descriptions”. Growing up under the wing of a “trainer” can give your pup a “leg up” on lots of early patterns. Our puppies can all “sit” and “down” by the time they leave and nipping is strongly discouraged here! We will get their little tummies “on track” with careful introductions to solid food and consistent feeding times and give suggestions about appropriate toys and treats.
Many of our “graduates” have gone on to become solid family members and great companions. They are to be found everywhere from New England to the Carolinas and even Internationally. We are able to arrange door - to -door transportation to their new homes and also offer an in-home transfer appointment where we can introduce the pup to her new owners and help organize a practical daily routine.
